                lower chamber at a glance, giving the needed information needed to make refilling an easy task to keep

                track without having to stand on a chair and look in it.










It is necessary to purchase a sight glass spigot for my Berkey System?



        








Yes. The glass spigot would be a great addition. It allows you to

                determine how much purified water remains without removing lid or remove the upper chamber to see the

                remaining water in the lower chamber. You can assess the water level accurately with the red floating

                ball in the sight glass spigot.










How to install the sight glass spigot on my Stainless Berkey System?



        








1. Discard the remaining water in the Berkey. Remove the original faucet –

                follow the instructions on the Berkey manual.




2. Remove the hex nut on the body of the faucet. Insert the screw end of

                the faucet body into the hole on the Berkey. Screw the hex nut on the Berkey’s inside manually so that

                it connects to the faucet’s body. Finally, tighten it with a wrench and keep the body of the faucet

                upright.




3. Insert the screw end of the water level sight spigot into the hole on

                the faucet body. Tighten it manually and keep it upright.




4. Fill the Berkey with the right amount of water to check for possible

                water leakage. If there is, please tighten the hex nut once again. If not, please discard water in the

                Berkey.










How to clean this sight glass spigot?



        








Clean all parts, including the faucet body, in hot soapy water. If you

                prefer sanitizing, you may use a mild solution of chlorine (50 PPM) or iodine (14ppm), before rinsing.

                Rinse thoroughly with clean water.










Does this sight glass spigot help to see how much water remains in the stainless steel lower chamber?
